Vision and Mission

Newaygo PharmaGroup was formed in 2007 with the vision of improving industry commercial practices and interactions with the healthcare community. Our mission is to help our clients drive growth, build credibility and prevent/correct potential healthcare law issues by establishing effective, efficient and compliant commercial strategies and process.

Approach

Our goal is to provide the highest level of quality, efficiency and client satisfaction. To this end, we apply a project planning framework that establishes a full understanding of your needs ("A problem well stated is a problem half solved") and ensures the right plan of action is in place so we can design, build and deliver the highest quality solutions possible. We also utilize a number of project management and client support tools including Newaygo Project Manager. This secure, easy-to-use online project management system provides a simple and efficient approach to facilitating communication for those working on a project and for storing and organizing project documents.

Peter J. Schell. Peter is President and owner of Newaygo PharmaGroup. He formed Newaygo PharmaGroup in 2007 with the vision of helping biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies better engage healthcare professionals. Peter has twenty-two years of U.S. and International commercial strategy, operations and healthcare law management experience with Merck and Pfizer, including the launch of Lipitor. His expertise includes commercial strategy and brand management, commercial policy development, process re-engineering, system design, compliance program design, risk management, organizational infrastructure design and organizational change management.

Ellen Wasserman. Ellen is Senior Executive Consultant with Newaygo PharmaGroup. Ellen brings more than 25 years of medical communications experience to Newaygo. Her expertise in developing strategic medical communications plans and tactical programs has included all aspects of medical education, branding, and positioning, and planning for early phases of product commercialization. Ellen has worked across a broad range of therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiology, CNS, HIV, and women’s health. Ellen has a proven track record of successful launch planning, KOL development, CME programs, and publications. With experience at major agencies such as Grey Healthcare Group, and Draftfcb Healthcare, Ellen has worked with major pharma clients such as Novartis, Merck, BMS, as well as many smaller companies such as Encysive Pharmaceuticals, Berlex, Millenium, Peplin, ARMGO, and The Medicines Company. Ellen brings a collaborative team approach to her work with Newaygo PharmaGroup.

Pamela Weir. Pamela is Senior Executive Consultant with Newaygo PharmaGroup. Pamela has over 21 years of diverse pharmaceutical experience and a proven track record of building successful brands & setting strategies for corporate growth. She has extensive leadership and launch experience in global & U.S. markets, with primary care, hospital & specialty products, across multiple functions: Brand Management, Global Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Marketing Operations, Sales, Business Development & Communications as well as numerous therapeutic areas: acute & chronic pain, respiratory, thrombosis, CV, CNS, ED, anti-infectives & anti-arthritics. Pamela has lead multiple high performance teams, including U.S. commercial organizations, with experience building new departments and processes as well as re-engineering existing functions. Pamela's pharmaceutical experience also includes commercial strategy and change initiatives relating to PhRMA code and other related healthcare law regulations.

Sharleen Fleming. Sharleen Fleming is Executive Director of Project Planning for Newaygo PharmaGroup. Sharleen has ten years of pharmaceutical industry experience in CME development, healthcare professional consultant relations and KOL planning, advisory board development and account and project management.

Rossana Coriandoli. Rossana is a Senior Writer/Editor for Newaygo Pharmagroup. Rossana has 20 years of writing, editing and production experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Rossana has developed medical and healthcare-related promotional, educational and training content for many of the top 25 pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, Pfizer, Merck and others. Rossana’s expertise includes medical and healthcare writing, editing and content development, and development of educational and promotional materials. Her experience includes the development of CME-related newsletters, medical conference reports, medical publications and trade journals, as well as web-based medical education programs. Rossana was most recently the editor of the Doctor’s Guide to the Internet, the leading healthcare on-line physician medical portal on the internet.

Carol Elias. Carol is a Senior Executive Consultant with Newaygo PharmaGroup. Carol has 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in marketing, project management, regulatory and clinical development with Pfizer Inc. Her expertise is in project and information management, operational process optimization, and design and development of communications materials and programs. Carol brings excellent marketing and project management experience including speakers’ bureau and KOL programs, continued medical education (CME) teleconferences and newsletters, website design and management, and grants process management processing and website development and team budget. Carol also brings experience and knowledge of regulatory and FDA guidelines and clinical trial management.

Christine Delfeld. Christine is a Senior Executive Consultant with Newaygo PharmaGroup. Christine has twenty years of US and International medical, clinical and quality assurance experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Her expertise is in clinical and medical operations, healthcare and regulatory risk assessment and quality assurance, pharmacovigilance process development and compliance auditing, policy and procedure design, process re-engineering and change management and effective implementation.

Michael Batten, MD. Michael is Senior Executive Consultant with Newaygo PharmaGroup. He has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry including the clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and financial service fields. His expertise includes pharmaceutical business development, risk and value assessments, transaction negotiation, corporate strategic planning, therapeutic area assessment, clinical trial design strategy, and quantitative asset valuation.

Robert Geller. Rob is a Senior Executive Consultant for Newaygo PharmaGroup. Rob has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience including brand development, marketing, advertising, and business consulting with global big pharma companies including Abbott, Merck and Sanofi Aventis. Rob has also consulted with top creative agencies including Taxi and Torre Lazur McCann providing strategic and creative services for brand development across numerous therapeutic markets including cardiovascular, diabetes, anti-infectives, anti-arthritis, CNS, nephrology, HIV/AIDS, and oncology/hematology, and in managed care strategy and analytics. His expertise includes commercial strategy and brand management, brand launches, managed care optimization and data management, and creative program design and implementation.

Karen A. Murphy. Karen is Executive Director of Editorial Services and Production for Newaygo Pharmagroup. Karen has eight years of experience in the field of editing and production. Her expertise includes the development of healthcare-related content including healthcare marketing and medical documents, commercial policy and process documents, reports, textbooks, e-marketing material and website design, and the creation and implementation of training manuals and programs.

Richard A. Wright. Newaygo PharmaGroup Legal Counsel. Richard is a health law attorney with more than fifteen years of experience representing a broad range of health care industry clients, including physicians, hospitals, suppliers, and drug and device companies. Richard advises health care providers and drug and device companies with a wide spectrum of regulatory and compliance matters, including fraud and abuse and compliance with the Medicare/Medicaid Anti-Kickback and the Stark Physician Anti-Referral laws. Richard is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations as well as the American Health Lawyers Association.

Jon Bosco/e-Delta. e-Delta is partner of choice for Newaygo PharmaGroup CPA-based financial accounting and internal auditing solutions. e-Delta provides Newaygo with extensive capabilities and experience in financial accounting, SAS70 readiness, integration of financial and business requirements into operational processes, and internal auditing capabilities including transactional auditing and risk assessments. Jon’s expertise in corporate compliance and developing impactful solutions has resulted in significant increases in business operations efficiencies, effectiveness and enhanced compliance for his clients.

Chris Murray / WSI. WSI is the partner-of-choice for Newaygo PharmaGroup e-business solutions. WSI provides innovative, award-winning website design and development, content management solutions, e-business and e-commerce solutions and internet marketing and search engine optimization. Chris's expertise is in business strategy, web design, on-line training solutions and integrated internet marketing programs and conversion techniques that have had a multi-million dollar impact for his clients.

Bill Abram / Pragmatix. Pragmatix is the partner-of-choice for Newaygo PharmaGroup software development and database management solutions. Pragmatix delivers a broad portfolio of business and technology solutions including secure managed hosting, remote managed services and support, custom applications and databases and software development for Fortune 500 companies and smaller organizations. Bill’s expertise is in business strategy and streamlining business processes that have resulted in a track record of success and positive impact on the bottom-line for his clients.

Janet Chow, Senior Consultant. Janet brings 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to Newaygo. Her expertise in Sales Training and Project Management involve the highly effective development and implementation of strategic training programs. Janet has a broad range of experience with Specialty and Hospital based healthcare providers in therapeutic areas including anesthesia, psychiatry, women’s health, pain management, thrombosis and immunotherapy. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Janet was part of a dynamic scientific research team that identified interleukin-12, a cytokine that assists in regulation of the body’s resistance to infections and cancer. Janet’s strong scientific background balanced with her comprehensive pharmaceutical sales experience enable her to blend pragmatic and relevant concepts into strategic goals and solutions within the healthcare community.

Joe Brown, Senior Executive Consultant. Joe brings 21 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on sales leadership, sales training and specialty sales. Joe has extensive experience building outstanding brands by implementing successful launch plans. His most recent projects also include compliance program design and execution. His background includes clinical and business development with a variety of hospital and specialty healthcare providers in oncology, cardiovascular, psychiatry, urology, infectious disease and vaccines.

Stella Lin, Senior Executive Consultant. Stella has nearly 20 years of marketing, sales, and consulting experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. She has brought multiple new products from trials to marketing as well as defended mature brands in U.S. and international markets. Stella has developed markets for first-in-class brands such as Viagra and Prozac, managed portfolios of products, and directed brand teams globally and regionally. Her experience spans across primary care, hospital, and specialty markets. Her expertise includes healthcare professional marketing, consumer marketing, relationship marketing, U.S. and global marketing, product launches, life-cycle management, portfolio strategy, franchise management, public relations, new product planning, anti-counterfeiting, and business process re-engineering. Stella has been an accomplished marketer at Pfizer, BMS, AstraZeneca, The Medicines Company, and Genentech, and a top sales representative at Eli Lilly. She also has strong consulting background specializing in decision making, strategic planning, and operations and process improvement. Stella has in-depth experience in diverse therapeutic areas with emphasis on cardiovascular, CNS, anti-infectives, urology, male and female sexual dysfunctions, overactive bladder, and gastroenterology. She earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science, and an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Thomas McKnight. Thomas brings nearly two decades of pharmaceutical experience in sales management and marketing leadership. His product sales and launch success span a wide variety of disease states including cardiovascular, urology, institutional anti-infectives, osteoporosis, pain management, gastroenterology, diabetes, asthma and vaccines. Thomas’ work with major pharmaceutical companies has also included development of sales training programs, oversight of market development strategies and implementation national sale force expansions.

Jim Bearden. Jim brings 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with an emphasis on sales leadership, sales training, sales and marketing compliance and specialty sales. Jim has launched and established successful brands, along with creating and building teams. His sales and marketing positions includes metabolic, cardiovascular, infectious disease, urology, and psychiatry.

Tim Eades. Tim Eades has 26 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. His background includes sales management, training, marketing and contract negotiation with managed care organizations. Tim’s expertise includes the planning and execution of physician focus groups used in the development of marketing strategies. His sales management skills resulted in numerous top tier sales awards. In addition, Tim identified and mentored high potential talent towards growth in their careers.

Tom Peter. Tom Peter has over 33 years of successful pharmaceutical industry experience that includes sales, training and development, sales management, state government affairs, managed care and product marketing. He spent the majority of his career hiring and developing strong, cohesive teams. Understanding the importance of culture, vision, and flexibility, Tom is a veteran of two company mergers, whereupon he served on numerous integration teams during those formative days.

Noah Shannon (independent consultant/SME). Noah Shannon has specialized in pharmaceutical industry regulatory compliance and corporate ethics for the past 8 years, providing consultative services to several of the industry's leading companies. Noah specializes in risk management, compliance program development, policy writing, and Corporate Integrity Agreement oversight and management. Noah has published several articles on these topics in publications including RxCompliance Report, Pharmaceutical Executive and the International Journal of Brand Management, and has spoken on these topics at industry events. Prior to his specialization in the pharmaceutical industry, Noah worked at Accenture as a strategy consultant for Fortune 50 companies, advising senior management on decisions related to growth and operating strategy. He holds a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine a B.S. from Cornell University.
